The California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations for Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs) set requirements for owner/operator compliance starting 12/31/08. These requirements include emissions performance, indentification and reporting of all California based TRUs. Compliance standards have two levels of stringency defined as Low Emission LETRU or Ultra Low Emission ULETRU, and further categorized by horsepower. TRUs in scope for Aura Systems Inc. are in the 25 HP and below category.

Additional approaches, in lieu of using the Oasis system by Aura, include such solutions as updating the engine or installing additional emission controls. The Oasis, powered by the AuraGen, seems to be the most efficient and cheapest method to meet the new requirements. In addition, it is, being all-electric,  the most ideal solution to help restore the health of our Earth.
